Our story

The UT Dallas Advocacy Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP-UTD) advances the national AAUP’s objective of helping our country's colleges and universities develop and sustain standards and practices that assure quality in education and research.

In keeping with the function and character of UT Dallas, the mission of the AAUP-UTD chapter is to:

• safeguard and advance freedom of thought, inquiry and speech

• promote fair working conditions

• strengthen ties and mutual support among different campus communities

• represent the interests of faculty at the state and national level

• recruit and organize individuals to collaborate in achieving these and other vital aims
